You booked a Bosphorus cruise with hotel pickup but the details are vague — what time do they come, where exactly, who do you look for, what’s included, what costs extra? Short, honest guide from the people who run the pickups.
What “hotel pickup” means on a Bosphorus cruise
A driver meets you at your hotel lobby, takes you to the pier, and brings you back after the cruise. No navigating Istanbul traffic yourself, no tram, no last-minute taxi scramble. On our dinner cruise tickets the pickup is included from most central districts; on other cruises it’s an add-on at €25 round-trip per group.
Which hotels get free pickup on the dinner cruise
Free pickup is included for guests staying in:
- Sultanahmet (old city) — any hotel between Topkapı Palace and the Blue Mosque, all the way to Çemberlitaş.
- Taksim and Beyoğlu — Taksim Square, Istiklal, Pera, Galata.
- Nişantaşı and Harbiye — the hotels around the shopping district.
- Beşiktaş and Ortaköy — hotels directly on the Bosphorus (short pickups).
For hotels outside these areas — Levent, Atasehir, the Princes’ Islands, the airports — pickup is a per-booking surcharge; we quote it with your reservation.

How the timing works
- Driver arrives at the hotel lobby 45 to 60 minutes before the cruise departure, depending on where you are staying.
- For the 19:30 sunset dinner cruise, Sultanahmet pickup is around 18:30, Nişantaşı pickup around 18:45.
- For the 10:00 morning cruise, pickup lands 20 to 40 minutes before departure.
- Return pickup is at the pier within 5 minutes of the cruise returning; the driver has your name and knows which boat.
If you want to cancel the return and walk back to your hotel yourself (common after the morning or afternoon cruise, since the Spice Bazaar is right there) — just tell the driver on arrival.
What to tell us at booking
- Hotel name and exact address.
- Lobby or back entrance (some older hotels in Sultanahmet have a side alley).
- Number of guests and any mobility needs (wheelchair, child seat).
- Mobile number with WhatsApp so the driver can message you if there’s a traffic issue.
Vehicle and comfort
Standard pickup is a Mercedes Vito or similar — air-conditioned, bottled water, English-speaking driver with a local SIM. For groups of six or more, we switch to a larger van (Mercedes Sprinter) at no extra charge. Child seats are available on request.
If you want a sedan with a chauffeur in a suit — for a proposal, a milestone birthday, or a corporate dinner — the executive pickup is a €40 upgrade per direction. See the private Bosphorus cruise for the full upgraded package.

Cost breakdown
- Dinner cruise ticket + free pickup from central districts: €65 adult.
- Sunset or afternoon cruise + optional pickup: €40 ticket + €25 round-trip car, so €65 total.
- Morning cruise + optional pickup: €25 ticket + €25 round-trip car, so €50 total.
- Executive sedan upgrade: €40 per direction.
- Hotel outside central zone: quoted per booking, usually €35 to €60 round-trip.

If something goes wrong
Flight delay, traffic, hotel miscommunication — we have a dispatcher on duty from 08:00 to 23:00. If your driver is more than ten minutes late, call the number on your confirmation. We rebook or refund the pickup fee if there’s a service failure on our side.
Short answers
Is tipping expected?
Not required but appreciated. €5 to €10 is standard for the driver on a round-trip pickup.
Can you pick up from the airport?
Yes, as a separate booking — €40 from Sabiha Gökçen, €35 from Istanbul Airport. Not usually bundled with a cruise ticket because of the long distance and timing.
What if we’re late to the lobby?
The driver waits 15 minutes free; after that we count the pickup as “no-show” and the cruise ticket is forfeit unless you can get to the pier in time yourself.
Can we combine pickup with another activity?
Yes — common ones are hotel → Blue Mosque → cruise pier (we add a 90-minute stop), or hotel → cruise → dinner reservation elsewhere. Both add €15 to €20 to the base pickup.
